Problem with new cam?

A buddy received yesterday a cam with a bite. The bite only affects the coating of the surface. Is it wrong? thanks

If its brand new, i would send it back. Something that critical in the motor i would make sure that i get what i paid for, and not something that is knicked.

The grey coating surface comes away too easy with the fingernail. Is it normal?

that coating is there to help the cam get broke in.

it will destroy your engine if you use it.
