yeah that sucks, i tried to get a set of all tracs off but it was a wasted effort, i guess the only sollution is to cut them off, or do burnouts til they bust out holes and fall off

i've never thought of the truck idea but it seems like that'd work

try turning the truck around so you have the weight of the engine on it

Yeah, the tire is actually flat!! Man, this is pi$$ing me off, I have just spent so much on other stuff.....The local shops want $25 a tire to change!!!

muff
01-21-2003, 04:12 PM
yeah they charge $25 here to, I usually go to a car tire place to get it done, much cheaper

i tried to that with my truck too!

Wal-Marks told me that they had a policy that they can only put ATV tires ON and are not allowed to break ATV tires down,,,i found an old man that had a gas station and a tire machine, and he broke it down no problem,,,find you a shop that has a tire machine (the horizontal type, cause the type where they just stand the tire up and try to break it down that way don't work to well),,,

Try putting a little air in the tire then try it.

01-21-2003, 04:23 PM
jig saw and cuttin pliars does the trick, that is if i cant break the bead :macho

This is how i change all my tires and rimes its really easy if you know how to do it and have the right bord. Anyway i always take the valve stem out.never had a tire stay on doing it this way.

That's how I did mine. Try pulling the tire out a little more so you can drive up on one whole side of the tire. You may have to cut your wheels back and forth a little too.

01-21-2003, 08:43 PM
watch out taking it to car tire shops they dont realize that it says 25 psi max to inflate, the overinflated my freinds and ruined the tire

They are also pretty tough on alunimum rims.

if you bought it used they use thisz tire glue to make it sit what i needed to do was work it with three guys kutt the tire then take a grinder and kutt the bead off cause the bead on ohtsu radials is the same as a car tires ys its that thick and then with the vinyl glue it was so hard to break it took us 3 hours with a hydroliac tire breaker a sawzall and akchol my friend just burned the tire off.................just make sure it was at night....................and it didnt discolor his rims..................just let them kool off good.........................

Rico is right. You should leave about 2 or 3 psi in it and it breaks itself off the bead when you run over it. My tire guy changes them for $10 but he told me the trick so I didn't have to come back and pay the money. I don't think he likes atv tires too much.

Yes, it breaks the bead much easier with air in it. Now the trick. Once one side is busted off, put some air back in, enough where it seals the tire, but not enough to reseat the bead, about five pounds or so. That makes breaking the other bead much easier.

Yopu just answered my question. I was going to say " that's great but how do you break the other side?"

uuuuhhh.. well when we bought the new tires for the rancher it took 45 lbs to seat the godda/\/\n bead and a propane tank rapid inflator for vig truck tires to get them on.

no, take the board where it was and move it 6" to one side and slide it up, that way its covering all of the tire and not infront of the rim

I welded together a bead breaker a little like they show in the Harbor Freight catalog only a lot heavier and with more leverage. On stock Yamaha wheels I will run as much as 8 lbs of pressure to break the bead loose. I then put enough pressure in the tire to hold it in place but not enough to seat the bead to break the other side loose. For leverage I use an eight foot pipe and can punch a hole thru the side wall if I am not carefull. The foot that pushes against the tire is a curved 2 inch by 5 inch piece of 1/4 inch steel.

The way I use the forklift is. I will push the tire up against a wall. THe push the fork just under the lip of the rim. Then I will move the forklift forward a little to put pressure against the rim. THe I let the forks go down. It pups them every time. The forks on this fork are pretty big heavy. The tire is no match.
