and what did the parts cost? thanks for the response. i was hoping i wouldnt have to split the cases, wishful thinking even if that isnt exactly it..

U gotta split the cases to fix a transmission. Its the last thing to come out and the first thing to go back into the engine. Not sure how much it will cost. Find a good used tranny off ebay and get a shop put it in for ya. I think mine costed around $400 bucks for tear down and reassembly.

whatever u wanna do. I would put a whole newer tranny in it. The cost of one lil part from honda costs as much as a whole newer tranny on ebay.

no not really.. if its just a dog or a shift fork it would only be 80ish. i doubt its super serious, it doesnt pop out of gear and its only when i rev 3rd out that it happens. but if i did have to spend 400, the quad isnt worth it.

Where ever your gonna get it fixed. See how much they are gonna charge ya to fix it.

What if something else happens to that old tranny, and u have to go back into it and fix it again, u will really wished u had put a newer tranny in er. just my .02 hope u get er fixed for a good price.

who said id be taking it anywhere? i was just asking to see if it was anything common and if someone has been through it before, my father and i will do the work. u do have a point though, it is an old tranny, but so is a used one on ebay! this particular quad isnt worth it in my opinion, its not like its showroom 100% original, or else i would do it, thanks though

i wasnt asking what to do, i was asking what exactly it might be so i can price parts. it was wishful thinking on my part to not have to split the cases, i did say that. again, thanks kid
