so after getting stuck in the woods yesterday i realized it is time to fix the electrical issues once and fo all. when i go to start the bike the solenoid just clicks. my battery tender is telling me it is fully charged and all the lights are bright. i used a tester light on the solenoid. on the battery side it lights up whe grounded. as i try to start it when the tester is on the other side it is a faint dim. would this be caused by a faulty solenoid or starter??

will it start by jumping the the solenoid if it does then its the solenoid if it doesnt then it could be the starter and make sure all grounds are good

It could be a number of things.

fearlessfred is correct on how to test the solenoid. It could also be your battery, wire harness, ground wire or starter.

if you jump the solenoid and it still want turn over, jump it all the way to the starter. (I use jumper cables)

have you tried tapping the starter with a hammer when it doesn't turn over?

i have this same problem but i know that the siliniod is bad i have jumped it plenty of times but now it just turns the starter and doesnt turn the motor over. i have pulled off the starter cover and all the gearing is turning but somewhere inside it isnt turning over the engine.. i dont know this bike has issues with 3rd gear so maybe that is turning into a bigger problem that i think
