hey all i just picked up some 450r shocks to throw on the ex, but untill gt thunder has there way with them (prolly not real soon) there just stock red springs. what are yalls recommendations for painting them? just the springs. would they flex to much to get some quality auto paint and clear coat them? im not good with how to paint, what to use or any of that. so any help would be appreciated.

i dont want to spend the money on powdercoat, gt thunder puts black tripple rate springs on them when they set them up for you. or i could buy the works dual rate spring kit, but its $250 i didnt pay that for the shocks. im looking for a good quality paint that wont flex and chip off.

any paint will flex and chip on springs. powder coating is really your only option. also, just FYI, GTT uses a dual rate setup i believe and the works kit is a triple rate setup.

yeah that is correct. i miss spoke. so i guess ill just spray paint them with some decent paint and hold out for the gt thunder setup. thanks guys

I just went with a pair of DirtSkins shock covers instead of dealing with painting the springs. Seemed like the best way to get the look I wanted and will also protect the shocks.
