wrecked my truck =[

got rear ended today. i was at a dead stop and some dude doin about 40 hit me.... and that fast.... a nearly flawless truck is totaled.=[ frames bent beyond repair. heres what she look like before the wreck

cab got tweaked with the frame bending and the bed crushin' it.

and unfortunately i got hit hard enough to take out the car in front of me.=[=[=[=[ luckily i wasnt at fault so hopefully i'll have a new set of wheels within the next month or so....assuming the insurance company wants to work with me.

that damage doesn't have anything to do with the frame. it just dented the body????

This is why you stay back far enough to keep from hitting a car in front of you if you get hit from behind... It's still considered tailgating even if your not moving.

No way, I don't believe that for a second. If someone rear ends you and pushed you into the vehicle in front of you, its still the guy that rear ended you's fault. He could have been back 20 feet, and still hit the guy in front of him.

it bent the frame and pushed the box into the cab which creased the cab.. not easy to tell from the pics but ive seen it happen before

i own a body shop and we fix frames all the time. just cause ones bent, doesnt mean it cant be fixed. also just because its totalled doesnt mean it cant be fixed, just means it may cost more than what its worth. most of the time around here, rebuilders would buy that chevy and fix it and sell it.

5,235 in estimated damage. that happened december 20 and i jsut got her in the body shop last monday and all im waiting on now is the new cowl induction hood, and glasses are bein reinstalled tomorrow. i made a thread about it the day after it happened but alot of people wanted to be dicks and flame n shyt so i just deleted the thread and said to hell with it.

as far as injuries it was me and my buddt riding in it and he had a little headache and i laid in bed for a day. nothin too serious though. im DEFINATELY getting a 4x4 now. ive always wanted one... and heres my excuse to get one.

now the tailgaiting debate.... i was a good 15 foot behind the car in front of me... i still slid into it. you can see the marks in the road still.

the insurance adjuster came and looked at my truck today and we got an initial offer of 4986.=] i recently put almost a grand into it in repairs and other stuff.... so since im still a minor my dad is arguing with them and trying to get more money out of it. its already way more than i expected so im satisfied either way.
