I am looking for a rear MX shock for my boy's 300ex. We are running the stock swinger, so long travel I do not need. PM me if you have one to get rid of.

Most guys are putting on a raptor 660 stock rear shock. it is adjustable and I have found them on ebay for $60.

I put on a raptor 660 shock (haven't ridden it yet). You need to get one from an '01 since that has the remote reservoir. If you use one with the attached reservoir, you'll need to cut the frame where it attaches to the airbox to make clearance room.

The '01 was an easy fit. The raptor shock seems just a hair wider at the top, so it took a little persuading with a mallet to get it in there, but otherwise it's a 15 min job. I attached the reservoir to my frame near the battery box with a couple of good quality hose clamps.

Aside from the adjustability, the raptor shocks have bolts with grease zerks in them, which IMO is a nice feature.
