Hey guys,
I'm installing my new axle in my 400 today. Upon disassembly, I discovered a metal shim. About 1/4" in width and >3" in diameter. I looked on the stock schematic for it and only for a part that was listed as "O-ring". The harder I look at this shim, the more convinced I am that it is home-made.

Does anyone that has torn the back-end apart recently recognize it?

(I apologize for the terrible pictures)

Thanks in advance

Was it next to the groove in the axle in the bottom picture? Near the axle nut?

No, it was between the brake hub and the carrier. It isn't visible when in the original position.

x2.

Looks like someone made that spacer trying to get the right alignment for the brake rotor. It definitely isn't in there stock.

That is what I'm thinking. It doesn't look like OEM grade material or craftsmanship.

I should not assemble it with the spacer in, right?
