I just bought a new 09 Yzf450R. I am wondering what things i need to know about it. Is there any wires i need to cut or anything i need to relocate and so on ? Any pointers very much appreciated. I will be racing woods and riding motocross so i kinda need the both of both worlds. How can i make the machine narrower for the woods with out spending thousands of dollars? Thanks for any help

If you race mx then I would say silicone your lean angle sensor in place.
As for making the bike more narrow, I am using yfz450 rear hubs (part of the R's width comes from offset hubs) and using 4+1 front rims makes it a bit narrower for the cheapest.
Good luck with it, it's an amazing machine!

see my thread on the ecu move close to this thread in the yfz section.

Gt thunder and houser both make some good woods a arms

ANd for the rear hubs...you can use stock yfz hubs or flip the stock yfzr hubs and press the studs out and insert backwards then bolt up wheels....will get you 46.5 or less... the yfz hubs are a hare over 47--about 47.25 or so..with 4:1 fronts my yfzr is about 48 in the front.

PRO ARMOR!!!

Pro armor xc front bumper...and i have the PRO MX bumper coming... and i run the revolution pro armor full pro peg nerfs with the net inserts in rear... the metal inserts i tried....slid around with heel of boot to much...put in the nets and love them... i can "hook" my 661 boots under them when i want to without sliding that way....and i also run the gytr skidplate with the gt thunder sprocket guard and poly brake skid.

Im going to order the hiper wheels and use the stock yfz rear hubs. Can i put stock front hubs on also and it will bring it in with the 4/1 wheels or do i need to get the after market a-arm to narrow it up in the front?

far as i know the stock front hubs are same or similar offset on yfz and yfzr..... put 4:1 offset front wheels on it and that will narrow you up 1 inch.... if you want narrower than 48 in front you need to buy a arms.
