lowering ride height

As I was driving home today I happened to be thinking about my carrier and how I could maybe change the ride height by adjusting the carrier so the axel is on the top of the carrier adjustment and that would in theory change the ride height by about an inch.
Has anyone else ever tried this? It could be put in the upper position for mx and the lower position for xc or hair scrambles.

give it a try, i think it may work for a bit of a change in the rear. as long as it doesnt bind up the chain or make you shorten it it would be perfect to give it a try. you can just turn it inside of the carrier without taking anything off. steve

if you really want to lower it, put a GT thunder XC linkage on it, will really make it squat down low when your on it.
