My son is too big for his 90, so we are getting him something bigger. In case it is relevant, he is 12 and he rode the 90 for 3 years. We are most likely looking at getting him a 300ex, or a Raptor 350. My question is: Can I install a restrictor plate or something else to limit his speed temporarily until he is used to the bigger quad? I just want to limit his top speed, not necessarily the acceleration.

Any opinions on the pros and cons of a 300ex vs raptor 350 are welcome as well.

Thanks

i would go with the 300ex i was riding a 250 majove when i was 12 and was exclant for me. i dont know any restricor plates but when i was 6 i got my first honda 90 and my dad just turn the screw by the throtle so i couldnt go pinned and crash. just turn the screw in so he gets bout 1/4-1/2 throtle and he should be fine

Thanks for the input.

I looked at the owners manual for the raptor 350 on Yamaha's web site and it has the same throttle limiting screw as the warrior, so if we are set if we end up with the raptor.
