I thought that you can adjust the crossover rings on the works shocks to make them softer along with moving the preload clip. I heard a few people mention it on this site.

WRONG

I spoke with Tim from WORKS yesterday and he told me when you change the preload or cross over rates the spring progression will NOT match the vavling in the shock and will give you poor performance.

i have a set of works front triple rates set up fro mx 175-200 lbs stock a arms for sale, not too many hours on em. will let em go for 250 shipped if anyone is interested.

there too stiff since i ride mostly trails.

they made a diff on the trails but i am looking for a softer set up as I am losing weight and i am not riding mx as much, they kick but on jumps though.

Very interesting! I spent the extra $50 for threaded preload for nothing. Thanks for the info anyway.:(

Just wondering I know its off this topic, but how do you like that tire setup. I was thinking the same combo because I ride mostly trails for fun nuthing serious.

The ones ive seen with threaded preload can be lowered and raised, I think they are fine to change if you have the threaded ones. I dont see how changing the place where the spring stops changes the preformance enugh to tell a difference.

Same here! I just hope I like the ride quality because i want a plush xc type set up, not mx stiff. Everyone seems to say their shocks are too stiff.:(

there

aero tech heel guards, i posted about them a page or two back, look them up. i dont like the nerfs, i feel they get in my way. these were 100$ and i had to do some modifying to get them to fit right, wasnt hard and i also had to drill the peg for one of the mounting holes. they are also flat and go up to the fender, the stock ones curve and it would get in the way of my size 12 alpinestars and piss me off sometimes. ihave ridden on them once four 4 hours and i really like them.

the tire set up is THE ONLY way to go for where i ride, i need the clearance and traction. i love it.

i am getting a set of 21/20 or 22/20 for the track, not sure what tires yet though.
