predator 500 steering stem

Has anybody ever tried to put a different style steering stem in a predator? I'm going to put a yamaha 450 steering stem in my '06 pred. in order to do away with all the moving parts in the front end. I know there will be fabricating involved, but that's no problem. I'm just wondering if anyone has done this before and what there results were. I hate having to replace bushings and bearings every few races in the front end.

You can get 07 Pred parts, they did away with the PRO steering on that. I'm sure Rath Racing has something as well...
