I dont know if it would be safe to just put sealler on it instead of the stock gasket (which is like 3 gaskets) What you do is buy the gasket that is for the suzuki drz400 dual purpose motorcycle which is basically the same engine, just higher horsepower in the motorcycle. Also what you can use as an ugrade from the drz400 is the valve spring, the drz uses 2valve spring for each valve therefore bringing the valve back to place faster, for your higher revs if you wanted to use an aftermarket rev box.

Ahhhhhhhh, that depends if the 450 is uncorked or not and what year. If its a 04-05 450r thats still corked, then yea.

I did that with my sons 50cc and gained a lot of torque by removing the base gasket, I don't know how that would fair with a 398cc engine, but I like the idea!
