jetting questions

ok, well i have been trying to see what the stock jetting is for some time now.....i read on this site from one person that the stock main jet was 143, then another member said it was a 148....then i read that the earlier models came with a 143 and the new models came with the 148, so whats is true and whats the stock main jet for my 01 honda 400ex.......mine came i with a 145 in it sense it had a filter and a gutted stock pipe

If you are talking keihin jets then stock is 148 main, 38 pilot.

As I understand it dynojet and mikuni use different numbers for the same size jets. Which could be why you've heard different numbers from different people.

yes im talking about keihn(sp) jets...i head 148 and 143, tyring to figure out which is right......and for diferent models....

148 is the stock main and a 38pilot is stock jetting not sure on the needle and a/f

the needle is the 3rd clip position when going from the top and the f/a screw is 2.25 turns out i believe to get it back to stock. 148 keihin and 38 pilot is stock stuff also as stated. steve

i am pretty sure that is correct. about 99% sure anyway i am positive on everything except the 2.25 out on the f/a i think that is what the manual says for it. steve
