Ipod users, how to unlock?

I-pod Nano owners... how in the heck do you unlock them ? Somehow my sons new I-pod got locked and cant get it unlocked?

Ive never had one some Im clueless ?? :confused:

try pressing the center button and the menu button at the same time and holding them for i believe 10 seconds. that should reset it, if i remember correctly. i havent had an ipod for a few years but thats what i always did.

Not sure what you mean by locked but there is a little switch on top if its showing orange its locked slide it over.

This may not be what your talking about thats the only lock I know of though.

But after a few seconds it locks back up . It shows the apple sign and then it shows main menu for a second them goes back to the padlock sign.

Plug it into the computer that the Ipod is assigned to ( first comp you used with it) and open itunes. When its ready to disconnect it should be unlocked.

ya try plugging it in to the computer and updating it. maybe the ipod has a problem it might want to "tell" the computer about

somehow a password got set. plug it in to the computer and unlock it. you can then disable the password i believe.

Thanks, didnt realize it would be that easy to unlock . lol :o :p
Not sure how he got it locked to begin with but hopefully its all good now .
