how much horsepower would it take to over come a weight difference in an atv race like if a bike and rider weight equaling 600 pound on a 30hp bike vs a 650pound bike. would you need say 4-5 more horses or what.

you could just use a hp/weight ratio. 600 lbs/ 30 hp = 20 lbs per hp. to achieve the same 20 lbs per hp just do 650/20=32.5. so it would take roughly 2.5 extra hp to keep the same ratio.
