I picked up a nice used Fatboy4 exhaust for my ex on ebay. My only question is it has (2) threaded studs coming off of one of the head pipes which look to be mounts for a heat shield. The only problem is the bolt holes for the stock shield measure 4.5" across and the studs on the header are 5.5" apart.

Does anyone know if these studs are put on by Duncan or if a previous owner put them on their as an adder? Looking at a picture on the Duncan website it doesn't look like they come with them but then again the picture isn't really clear.

If there is a special shield I should be using I will get one...otherwise I was just going to cut them off.

as you probably already did, i looked on the duncan site for acc. and replacement parts for the FatBoy 4 and the heat shield wasnt listed, maybe someone did fab up something, should be pretty easy to make since you already have the mount location
