Here are some pictures of my version of PRMs Outbacker rack. I made it using Stainless tubing from work and stainless steel connectors for railings, I then bent up some stainless sheet metal for the bottom, to mount it I used marine BBQ rail mount clamps. I am going to replace the 2x4's with stainless square stock.
It is rock solid I can sit on it no problem. I only have like 60 bucks into it.

I also made some A-arm skid plates, It is the same material as the engine skid I made last year that has held up great for a year of riding. It is stainless shelves that I cut up but it is pretty thick and fairly light because of the holes. It Cleans super easy because all of the debris fall through.
