I have been drag racing all my life and have built and fabricated about 30 cars. In colorado there are no quad races...at all....ever. I have my 450r for the mountains and sand but I keep seeing all these drag purpose built quads. Is there some websites or people I can talk to so I can get the low down on part manufacturers, frame design, and what people have and havent done?

I would be racing in the sand but at an actual dragstrip. Maybe something like an obnoxiously reving Banshee or a turbo fed 450.

You could try one of these guys' big bore/stroker 700r's with the power adder of your choice..

A 907cc turbocharged 700r would be insane.

I am still thinking of the drivetrain combo. A Hayabusa with a turbo would be stellar but it ruins the whole "quad" thing. I'd love to smoke some crotch rockets on the strip with a 2 stroke which should be pretty easy.

Banshee with a small block twister billet cases and a Cheetah DMX 771 stroker. It's a 14mil stroker crank and the DMX cylinders. Run high compression with race fuel, and a 2-6 override transmission. Combined with 35+mm carbs you can EASILY have a 150+hp banshee. Probably more, never seen a dyno of one of these.
