Hey guys, new here . nice forum, lots of good info. please don't mind this long post but please read it.
my 05 400ex, I have 22" tall holeshot tires on the rear. 8 ply , i love the tire themselves, good in all terrains and look good.
i have some 18" tall "kenda klaws" i run on it sometimes...but ground clearence sucks with those.
as you can guess. it has ALOT more bottom end power and a more fun 1-2-3 gear spread with the 18" tires. i love it.
with the 22" tires on the rear the 1st is too low to rip around turns with and stuff,
but 2nd is too high for doing that,
with the 18's on the back its AWESOME !!! i don't even use 1st most of the time, i just use 2nd most of the time and its so fun rippin around turns and trails in 2nd!
So i want the look and the traction/clearence of the holeshots, but power and gearing of the small 18" tires.
It has a BRAND NEW 39 tooth on the back, the old one was worn.
the front is a 14 tooth. Will going to a 13 tooth sprocket on the front do what i want it to do ?
top end doesn't matter to me as much, i'm a recreational rider i do 75% of my riding in the woods and areas where all top end is no fun.
thanks,
Brandon
