What else do you have done to your quad. There is a lot of things you can do before you bore and stroke it. If you already have exhaust, filter, cams, and a port job then I would go with the high compression piston. I have all of that except cams and a bored carb but that is next. My bike rips pretty good with those mods done.

Which exhaust do you have? If you don't have a aftermarket filter I would go with the fci intake. It is around 200 bucks and comes with a new tube and filter. It's the best you can get for the yfz. How much do you have to spend. You can get it ported for around 300-500 depending on where you go. Also did you do the cam mod yet. If all you have is exhaust there is a lot of things you can do before you stroke it.

You should be able to get quite a bit done with that much money. I had my head ported by Geoff at mmad. He is in california and charges 550 but does awesome work. Check out yfztech.com, he is a vendor over there. I would go with the fci, porting, and a high compression piston. That would give you way more power than you have now and it will still be reliable. Geoff also designed some custom cams that make more power than the stock ones all the way through the powerband. They are 225 a piece. If anything I would do the cammod on the exhaust cam and but his intake cam. So with the cams, porting and piston you're looking at around 1000 bucks or so if you do all the work. That's minus the gaskets.

Yep, it comes with a new tube and adapter with a filter so you can run the stock air box. You can also run without it if you want to. If you have any questions I can help with as much as I know.

It depends on if you want to run race gas or not. If you don't then you can only go up to 12.5:1, if you wanna run race gas then the there are a lot of pistons you can run. Check out this site. Stock compression on your quad is 11.9:1. I would go with a cp piston, they are the best. Also stock cylinder size is 95mm.
