yz426f problem...

First of all so you all know, I am about 90-95% motor retarded. Finally started up my bike... it starts first or 2nd kick no probs... idles fine... but as soon as i give it some gas it backfires with a nice large flame and dies. Is this a jetting issue or????

deff a jetting issue! what do you have for jets in the carb?

why dont ya take the jets out of the carb and read the 3 digit number on the side and tell us what they say.....

Should be around a 165....if I recall.

I'm running a huge open filter thats why it's bein such a b*tch... took it to my mechanic he's just gonna tune it up nice for me. Thanks anyway guys

if i remember right it has a 180 main and a 45 pilot. the motor came from the south where it is hot and humid most the time. you will have to re jet for your cold temps.
