I need some help with offets. I know the front offset of 3x2 adds and inch total to the width of the front end but I'm looking at some 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 offset fronts and I don't know what the stock rear offset is on the rear but I'm looking at the 2 sets of rear wheels. The first offset is 5x3 1/2 and second set is 5x3. I'm wanting to stay as close to stock offset as possible. Just need some new rims. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Tyler

Bump. What would an offset of 3 1/2 x2 1/2 do up front. Would it widen it an inch or more?

There was a thread some time back and it said if you move the off set out too far it will increase the bump steer. The same applies to wheel spacers.

as slightybent said, the wider on the offset you go the worse bump steer gets,as i remember 4-1 offset is stock so adding a inch with 3-2 is the max i would go.
i run plus 2 a arms and 3-2 off set, also if you go more on the off set,it puts more strain and the wheel bearings and hubs.john

I'm running plus 2's and I'm trying to stay as close to the stock offset as possible. I read the offset charts thing on the site and it said you lose an inch with 4x1 and gained an inch with 3x2 offset. So I'm gusing 3 1/2x1 1/2 would be stock offset?

I'm really not sure what the EXACT stock offset is, but Aceman did some actual measurements of the stock wheels and came out with: 3 3/4 + 1 3/4 offset. So I think you would be pretty close to stock offset with 3 1/2 + 1 1/2 rims (you would gain 1/4 inch on each side). Stock offset is definitely NOT 3 1/2 + 1 1/2 because stock wheels are 5.5 inch wide. 3.5 + 1.5 only comes out to 5 inches wide.
