I bought a 1986 R and was told it had a 330 kit in it.I was wondering if there was any way to tell without tearing it down. The motor is fresh and seems to run well (haven't had it out yet it needs a shifter).I had a 86R and a87R a long time ago but I have been away from quads for a while. Also on the cyl. is engraved HP does anyone know who they are? Thanks

Remove the spark plug and put the piston in top dead center. You can try to make out the numbers on top of the piston if not completely full of carbon deposits. Write the number down and repost it on here. Someone for sure will let you know what size piston it is.

If you have a stroked crank, we would have to do a little math haha.

not if it has a stroker crank in it... 310 with a 4mil crank will bring you to a 330 or real close to it.

That's what I was wondering. As I said I have been out of it since around 92 and they wer'nt getting em very big back then.A 310 was a monster lol.
