never dull. it comes in a can its like a wad you rub on it and buff. takes some elbow grease but nothing compares for metal. if you want to use a power tool to do it i suggest a mothers powerball mini and the mothers polish for the metal you have. is the can titanium? that would be expensive. i figured aluminum. in wich case mothers mag and aluminum polish to use with the powerball. i use that on my rims and i love it, takes min. per wheel and shines them to a mirror. spray out with the hose and dry with a cloth and it will look real nice. good luck on the pipe mines black chrome pc. i never liked polishing much. lol

I just used some Mother's Mag and Aluminum for my E-Series. It was like $5 for a 5oz can at my local auto parts store.

That was after just one polish. If I did it another three or four times it would be close to a mirror finish. Just make sure you have two clean towels (terry cloth is recommended) to start with. Use one for applying the polish and buffing then use the other for wiping it down. I also took some windex to it after to clean off any excess grime.

Well the Mag and Aluminum says "perfect for all metals". If it's a polishable metal, when you go to polish it a black residue will appear. If the residue does not appear, it's not a polishable metal.

Titanium is one heck of a good metal for abrasion resistance. So polishing will be very difficult if not impossable to make it look like polished aluminum . Ive been repairing titanium pipes and mufflers for years and going with a brushed look is way easier.
Dont waste any money on the polishing pastes ,they wont even touch it.

sand the pipe with 800 grit then 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000 then wetsand 2000 after that get a mothers power ball mini and buff with mothers mag and aluminum polish it takes forever but you will be happy with the results in the end just dont get lazy with the sanding also check out "polishing on a wheel" thread in the how to section I found it informative when I did my polishing
