Throttle Sticking

Hello all. Just found this awesome forum yesterday! I bought my 2001 400ex a few months ago so im still new to the hondas. My throttle seems to be sticking if I really get into it. When i mash into it and let off the thumb throttle it sticks for a second or 2. Like i said I'm new to the honda motors so where should start to fix this? New thumb throttle...clean the carb...new throttle cable??? When i bought the quad it was not doing it..just started a few weeks ago. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!!

just clean the hell outta the cable and the thumb unit, take the 3 skrews out and spray it out with air and lube it all up, the cable needs lube too, just use like droppledo or 3in1 oil or some kind of stuff like that, dont use penetrating oils thow cause its not sticky enough to last.
