well i will be getting some a-arms soon because i wrecked. i ride a lot of everything. from wide open country to woods. the +2 would obviously give me more handling but in the pics i have seen of +2 arms they look a bit wide and im afraid that when i go in the woods i wont be able to fit anywhere. my next question is on the honda site it has specs on the width. do they measure the front or back of the quad? thanks for any info.

I recently put a set of +2 on mine and love them. I ride trails in the desert and in mountain country and have never had a issue with them being too wide. +2 is the way to go in my opinion.

I just got my +2 arms on with new shocks and love the ride, handling went up tremendously. I have pics posted in my thread a few down from this one if you want to see the difference

You could get some 4+1 offset rims to narrow it up a bit also that is if your running a wider rim now.

do you know what the stock rims are offset? how wide would the front be with +2s?

i think stock wheels are 4:1. I have some 3:2's in my room and they look way different than stockers. From what I heard and i think this is correct if you run a +3 with a 4:1 wheel its like having a +2 width with a 3:2 wheel. I could be wrong though

so +1 with 3:2 would be same as +2 4:1? can anybody confirm that the offset numbers are in inches? for example 3 inch one side 2 inch other side?

This is correct.

My wife runs +1 Houser a-arms (standard travel) with stock rims that are considered a 3:2 offset. We run trails all over the place and she doesn't have any width issues. The setup is a total of 2" wider than stock. She could go to 4:1 wheels and be back at stock width. She weighs 125 lbs so the +1 a-arms helped soften up the stock shocks.

You could get +2 and 4:1 rims and be the same width as the example above. IMO this is the perfect width even for the trails. You can put on 3:2 rims if you know you will be riding more open trails.

wow thank you so much. the only reason i am going to get new rims up front is because i had to get rims for the back because i bent one and i just wanted all the rims to be same. i could keep stock and switch between them for what im doing. the only problem is i dont think they sell those rims in 4:1. the rims are same in sig.

I am also on the lookout for a set of a-arms and will probably go with +2's. It seems like most of the used sets that are for sale are +2wide/+1up. Will the +1up cause any problems or would it be a good thing to lengthen the wheelbase?

unless you are into wheelies it really wont do anything. it will help you when you go to race somebody though cause you don't have worry about it coming up on you. thats why you see drag bikes lengthening swingarm.
