For racing or trail riding? We tired a Apex rear shock, fits just fine, a tad longer, overall ride was a step up over stock but a tad too stiff for our likeing. Went with a long travel swinger and elka shock on ours. A buddy has a Works on his son's, made a HUGE difference over stock for a fair price but not MX worhty

Just want to upgrade enough to do 3 beginner XC races a couple of Poker runs, and some muddy trail rides. I already have +2singles, works fronts and will probably just end up with a works rear unless something cheaper works just as well. My boy will probably be moving on to his moms raptor 250 next year so don't want to put too much $$$ into the 90.

Diamond j customs sells a bracket to mount a stock 300ex front shock on the rear. Not the best setup but is cheap and worked for us for one season.way better than stock.
