YFZ450R cheap narrow for xc!! standard YFZ hubs!!

i just finished bolting up a set of the standard yfz450 hubs on my 09 yfz450r

Narrowed up the bike about 2" total!!!! so for anyone converting one for xc this would be perfect with 4:1 front wheels and .75" to 1" narrower a arms. Will make total width roughly 47" front and rear.

When people say that There bike is fifty inches is that a measurement when there on the bike, when there's no one on the bike, or when the suspension is bottomed out?

only the front end measurement is slightly affected when suspension compresses. Usually the max width of the front end is at ride height or slightly compressed.

Rear axle width is unaffected by suspension compression.

The Pro's were doing this for a little while, then Laz told me they ended up wanting to narrow them more, so I believe he said they flipped the stock hubs around and machined something on them to get their desired width.

i saw that on sommers bike at a local race in october. it is reaaally narrow. must have been having a sliding issue to narrow it that much.
