How big is the hole?

If its small enough just put a screw in it that would be a quick fix. That plastic is hard to get any thing to stick to it I would try that.

Check this out too :

lol JB weld. i dunno guy a new one would sound good unless you put a fitting there lol or sumthin. maybe ducttape would work? lust put a piece on the back so the gas wont mess up the glue.

I think that was LRD_400ex or something who tried patching his gas tank. He ended up burning his hole house down and thats not the first person who had a problem with that on this site.

Definitly go with a new gas tank. It might cost $80 used now but it could save him in the long run.

Find out what the he11 he was thinking when he was drilling a hole in his gas tank :huh

well, if it is a 400ex tank, which is plastic, try some stuff they use to fix boats and stuff. If it is metal and the hole isnt to big take it to a good welder, when my 300ex tank had a small crack in it i took it to a welder that filled it full of enert gases (gases that arent flammable). Then he welded it right up, it cost me $30.

Actually....... I had the same problem a while ago.... I drilled through my tank.(don't ask) mine was a bit smaller than the size of a pencil eraser (one on a pencil) and actually I just used JB weld..... now I know I heard some scoffs a couple posts up but actually JB weld is basically an epoxy that is safe for gas, heat, etc. it bonded well to the plastic I made sure I filled the hole with it and smoothed it over the surrounding area to give me a large area to bond to. I check it most every time I go riding just to be safe but I havn't had a problem since.
