ok a few questions what order do the head bolds and valve cover bolts go in like what one do you tightn first or and like order like the left one first or how do you do how much torque has to be on the head bolts and how much on the valve cover see i replacing the head jasket and the valve jasket and need to know how to put it back together thanks

Heres your head info for the M8 bolts. There are no tq values in the book for the cover just says to make sure the gasket is located in the groove.

Can you see that oil squirt nozzle that squirts oil on the cyl wall and rod, a little squirter you may want to take it out bond it in and build up around it with some adhesive sealant like devcon or high temp permatex if it breaks it will ruin the crank and tranny gears.

Book calls for some locktite sealant on the cyl seat gasket around the case cooling journals, chain duct(around the holes and a line between the holes on the case of sealant...if you need a pic ask....

Other than that did you check your cyl and piston? Valves? Exhaust - .0087-.0118 inch , intake - .0043-.0075...theres little shims under the bucket you change or move around. @ TDC/crank locked....use a feeler gage get an initial value first then the new thickness = recorded - spec value + old shim thickness. For example you measure Exhaust @ .006 you need .010(mid spec) or a .004 shim add that to the .006 you initially got or .010 shim you need.

Chain if it kinks needs a new one...Cam lobes for wear and journals for scoring....lifter buckets for wear/scoring......buckets s/b no larger than 1.31 in diameter and have no rust or corrosion on valve springs.......

Thats all I can think of.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't work. I'm not positive though.

If you only have a ft-lb torque wrench , you are correct you can divide 133 by 12 and that would give you your ft-lb reading.

VALVE SHIMS

For example you measure Exhaust @ .006" you need .010" your NEW shim should be .004" LESS then you presently HAVE.

MEASURE .006"
WANT .010"
SAY YOUR PRESENT SHIM IS .020"
YOUR NEW SHIM SHOULD BE .016"

"use a feeler gage get an initial value" EG: .006

RD I was talking about the valve clearance gap not shim thickness, so If you need .010 per spec but had a gap of .006 you need .004 MORE to close the gap. Or in your example my present shim is .006 not .020.

But thats a good example too RD's of having too much shim...Well hopefully we didn't confuse the heck out of good ol Dray :D

It's pretty simple tho Dray you just add or subtract shims to get the spec gap. More than likely add since the seats have worn.

O Dray might be a good idea to draw a little map of the valves and note the current shim and gap values before they get all mixed up since once you loose track you got to put it back together then start over....first time I did valves that happen to me kinda sucks!

IN THIS EXAMPLE
If you have a gap of .006" with your feeler gage and you want a gap .010"Yes you need .004" MORE OF A GAP but you get this by subtracting .004" from the shim you do NOT want to CLOSE THE GAP

You have no way of knowing the shim size till you take it out.
The shim thickness is used to adj. the valve clearance.

_____

.006" measured with feeler gage
_____

.004 substracted from present shim
_____

= .010 total valve clearance

If you were to add .004" shim the clearance WOULD BE .002"
