I have a 2003 predator and it is having problems starting, if it sits for a long time. I need to hit it with a charger to start it. After it runs for a while it will fire right up every time. It does have a spark amplifier and a REV-MAX CDI box. Could the CDI box be throwing my timing off to effect a cold motor and why will if fire right up after running for a while. If these boxes are going to cause this, is it going to make enough difference to be worth keeping it on there?

I swapped out the REV MAX CDI Box (pe-c-p500) with the stock box and it started right up. Am I sacrificing horse power for convenience or is there really no difference worth keeping?

aftermarket cdi are junk unless you go high dollar like the vortek/ dyna. The timing on those procom boxes is really advanced and makes starting them up a mess...plus it puts alot of extra wear on the start hard parts.
