450R or yfz450 VS yzf 426 Hybrid

I have a yamaha 426 dirtbike and the net says it has 59.1 hp. I have read where the honda 450r ATV has about 42hp. I have also been reading where some people are saying that they have seen the 450's (ATV) beat the 426 hybrid's.

I am thinking of doing the 426 swap on my 400ex frame.

I won't do the swap if the hybrid won't run with the 450's. It would not be worth my time. The only way that I will do the swap is if the 426 hybrid would hang with the banshee's or outrun them because I already have a ESR310 that can beat most shee's.

It would be nice if I could get a 4 stroke to hang with the modded shee's. What do yall think?

It would not cost me much to do this swap. Just wondering, is it worth it?

well i used to own a 426 hybrid, and can say that it will beat 450's in a drag race, modded shee's thats all depending on whats done to them. i attached a video of my bud's 450r and me racin

That was a pretty close race. I would think that an engine with almost 20 more horsepower would spank 450's.

How easy was it for you to beat him?

he got me out of the hole, i pulled a bike on him when we passed the camera, and then after that i pulled away hard. i always was told that the 426's made 47hp or so. either way, you can build some power out of these motors, mine in the video at the time was BONE stock, before i was done it had cams, piston and ported head and it screamed before 5th gear went out :rolleyes:

After you had the work done to it, how'd it do? Did you ever get to line up with a banshee?

yea some friends had some modded shee's and it would hold its own in a drag, it was all down to who got the holeshot.
