I have about 1800 dollars after i sell my bayou. What should i get Houser A-arms, PEP Shocks, Houser Swing Arm, Brake Lines. Or should i get AXIS Shocks, Houser A-arms, Brake lines. I only weigh 90 pounds so almost any shocks and a-arms will do fine. I dont think i will be able to break the swing arm so i was thinkin the AXIS setup. What do you guys think.

well right now you only weigh 90 pounds, but if you get bigger you may need stronger/better things.
its also the weight of the quad and how far you are jumping that will break aarms and swingarms, if you case a double realll hard and only wiegh 70 pounds things could still break.
get the aarms for sure, only get brake lines if you think you need them, or are getting plus 3 in any way.
if you get the axis shocks get an axis rear to, otherwise it is almost overkill, as the rear will not even be half as awesome as the fronts, and axis wont rebuild any shock that isnt an axis or penske
if you do get axis, get the triplerate(must have plus 2 for this) and dont worry about spending the extra 500 just for adjusments,
on the rear run dualrate with comp. adj.
i would also say that you should maybe buy pep shocks all the way around, houser arms and brake lines, and no swingarm(get a rear shock instead)
or run the new tcs with a reabuilt tcs rear and houser aarms and BK lines this setup would only cost 1800 and the bike would be so wide and low slung you could fly around any corner........do whatever you think best, and think about it hard.....just dont buy works shocks now and then decide later you want axis, in other words do things right the first time around.
hope i helped , latER

I think fronts will be fine for now. I think i will get the second setup but i will wait to see what other ppl say. Should i get the triple rate compression adj or the dual rate fully adj. I bet it would be weird with stock rear but i dont really have the money for both just front. I will get a swing arm and AXIS rear l8er on when i get money. No I am gettin ready to order it for christmas but i went ahead and added it cause i was bored.

do you want plus 2 aarms? if so you have to get triplerates, the way axis makes there shocks, standard is dualrate,,,,plus 2 and plus 3 are triplerate.. on kand k atv they list the kind i recomend for 875, and you will be waiting at least 5 weeks even though this is the slow season

buy a Lonestart +2 +2 axle and put the money in a CD at the bank till you are all grown up (assuming taht you arent) and then you can buy suspension. I decided to keep my money and not buy suspension... I am only 15 I still got time to grow also.

i would probably do the axis setup bc ricos what around 160lbs i think and he jumped that jump over shot it hit hard and didnt bust a swing arm. if i were u i would buy the break lines for sure they are worth the 130$. i see what trx is saying about gettin a back shock too i dunno how that would be wit a 1000$ shocks up front and a stock rear. see if u can save up some money and get the rear redone buy someone else.

and can u post a pic of ur plastic i wanna see a set of that stuff.

no i just remeber him talkin about his (quote) fat arse:D

Foxrage

I will get the axle l8er on. they are only like 300 bucks so that wont take long to save up for.

Tommy 17
11-25-2001, 04:46 PM
i would buy the triple rates without the one adjustment and i would get a axle wit that money.

11-25-2001, 07:54 PM
My field lol!!! i dont race till im old enough then i will race

Clay
11-25-2001, 10:24 PM
Nacs, i dont mean to make you mad or anything. Until you race and get good (assuming youve never raced at all) you dont need axis shocks. I was assuming you were a pretty hardcore racer here. I race all the time, i have Works Triples and they are great. I would save my money on the axis and get something cheaper. Im not saying buy the cheapest, but youre going ALL OUT here, when you probably cant even take advantage of what youre getting man. Please dont take this post the wrong way, im trying to be friendly. :)

Your totally right but I will get older and better and get into hard core racing. I want to have that stuff so i dont have to sell it and get better ones.

11-26-2001, 07:31 AM
Who you callin fat?????:D Yeah I'm a 200 pounder,,and proud of it,,I got a lot of money invested in my gut.;) If I was you nacs,,being that your 100 pounds,,,the setup you need would be the houser front end and works triple rates,,heck I'm sure the stock suspension is doin a pretty good job fer ya now. Have the rear shock rebuilt for $250,,and get a new axle,,,you get get all this for less than $1800,,,,this would be the wisest investment you could make,,and get the most for your money,,,I've got the setup I mentioned and it works great for me,,,if I was 100 pounds lighter,,,I think I'd jump grand canyon with it..:devil

You gettin axis shocks would be like putting heavy duty rancho shocks on a VW beetle. With you not being a big guy you could go with a less expensive set of shocks and save a ton of money that could be used more wisely on other things, and the cheaper shocks are gonna handle everything your 100 pounds of mean, lean, racing machine body can throw at it..I gaurantee it.

ya i would just do what rico says i mean everyone wants axis shocks and i aslo see ur motors basically stock lets say the a-arms are 545$ and the shocks are 480$, the axle u can get for 350$, 250$ for the rear shock redone, brake lines are only 130$ so that is like around 1700$ and if u save up alittle bit more u can throw in a cam or high comp piston...

Get Works triple rate fronts with rezzies, ($529.95) Houser A-arms, ($565) Durablue Axle, ($290) and save for the Works UltraCross w/adj comp-reb.($699.95) All you would need is some brake lines.

I`m having the same problem. I plan on racing Cross Country and was going to get the $1,250 Axis shocks. I`m not sure what I want now. I don`t want PEP because of all the bad things I hear. Maybe I`ll get Axis someday.

I weigh 200 and i agree with Rico. I love the performance of my works triples. I want something with a little more sag,i think im gonna have them converted to Rhino Racing (Legacy ATV) Shocks. Ive heard good things about them.:devil

I just want them because you guys are always sayin they are top of line they are the best. I have the money so y not get the best. I still have 2 years before i actually race so i have time to save up for all that other stuff. You guys just really got me hooked on em and i dont want to let them go unless my mom makes me.

11-27-2001, 04:33 PM
well just think about how much money you are actualy spending,, and i thought i was gonna have to wait to race 2...i was wrong im racin next year and im not 16......im tryin to buy axis off of a guy right now...im deciding if its worth it, if i get a good deal then ill go for it, but if i have to pay full price i might not

11-28-2001, 12:19 AM
Where do you plan on racing next year trx400ex?
AMA has been pulling underage riders from races
this year until they can prove they are of age.
Get caught and they can ban you from racing.

trx400ex
11-28-2001, 05:35 AM
its not an ama race though

11-28-2001, 10:09 AM
Were I race at in Ky it's a big track and it's not an AMA race either,,,there were 14 & 15 year olds racin with me in the D class,,of course they got there doors blown off but that's OK..:D :D

trx400ex
12-01-2001, 05:28 PM
whats that track called rico? how far away from indiana is it?

12-03-2001, 08:16 AM
It's an hour and 15 minute ride from louisville,,,so from crawfordsville which I've been through it's a long drive,,,I'd say it would take ya at least 3 1/2 hours maybe...if you did come down I'd plan on stayin at a hotel or something,,,cuz the races go until midnight sometimes..

trx400ex
12-03-2001, 02:35 PM
oh thats not too bad, i might have ot check it out next year, there erent to many non ama tracks around here

12-03-2001, 02:41 PM
Well you need ta come down there dude. I'll even meet ya half way and you can follow me down. You could run in the D class and you only have to run about 3/4 of the track,,not the entire thing,,plus you won't have to hit the biggest jump on the track or go through the whoops. Actually you'll probably run against me if My back heals up and lets me race next season. I'll be running in the VET class,,which normally gets put in with the D class. Just keep it in mind,,,it's a lot of fun..

trx400ex
12-03-2001, 02:53 PM
what if i were to be racing a 250r? same class still?,,, see at the closest track to me there are only 2 classes and fewer and fewer quads show up, last race there was only 8!:( ,,thing is theres like 100 bikes so i think they will eventually do away with the quad end of it and ill be out of a place to race..what month do the races start?latER

trx400ex
12-04-2001, 07:38 AM
ill be there next year

12-04-2001, 07:43 AM
here's a link to the track's webpage,,,,http://www.blackrockmotocross.com/

races start in april and run through Oct. If you were on a 250R you would have to run in the 250-299 2 stroke C class. Which you could still be up against me. When I ran the 350 open class last year I was teamed up with the 250 C class,,,and laid the smack down on most of the 250R riders. But you'll have to run the entire track in that class,,,but being a young wipper snapper that shouldn't be a problem for ya..you ain't gunna run your 400ex??

trx400ex
12-04-2001, 08:10 AM
