nice quads. what kind of numbers you put up on the dyno?

Not very good. This dyno reads lower than ANY other dyno you will every be on, but it also tunes a lot better. Its an eddy current, true torque measuring Mustang Dyno, it is not an inertia dyno.

My white 07 has an HRC pipe, motoworks silencer, 05 CRF cam, green wire cut, been tuned to the high heavens. It puts down 42.9 hp.

The black one is an 05 with an 02 CRF cam, ported head, white bros pipe, SRP rev box, +3 hotrods storker, 13.5:1 piston, tuned perfectly, it puts down 49.8 hp.

For reference sake, a stock 05 puts down 28 HP, and an 07 puts down 32hp. Stock YFZ puts down 34 HP, and a stock KTM 450 SX put down 36 stock.

Basically on the 06-up 450R's is brings on a bit different timing curve, and adds another 1000 RPM to the rev limit. It only helps once you have a cam, not much good without one. Its also the same thing the HRC kit does, it comes with a jumper harness that bypasses this wire, same as cutting it or pulling the pin out of the connector.

The best advice I have for anyone running cross country is to not worry about the motor, just make sure its nice and tight.

Work on the ergos and suspension. Make the thumb throttle as light as possible, make sure your front and rear are as "cadillac" as possible, and work on the riders fitness. :D

Spring mod on the 06-up FCR carb is where you shorten the throttle return spring or drill a new mount hole for it so it make the throttle not so hard to press...it takes the initial spring pressure off....really helps out in the XC races and long rides. I cant remember it 100% because Ive only done about 5 and they were a year or two ago. Just look at it, use your imagination, and its easily figured out.
