clutch plates broken up.

has anyone ever had this problem???

well the past 2 days when i pulled in my clutch on my 450r it was making a funny noise... i pulled it open when i first started hearing it and didnt see anything funny... well i decided to go further into the problem when the noise got louder. here is what i found..

what could cause this?!?!?!?!

on the back last matal plate there was a heat ring around it?!!

Does this quad have a Hinson Clutch Basket?

nope stock, its groved, but i just dont see what could make a plate explode like that, i took a in tact plate and chunked it at the ground 10 times and twisted it. couldnt get it to break.

Yes, me and my brother both have broken several plates over the years. Was the clutch pack wore, had it been slipped much causing excessive heat? Also, do you change the fluid pretty regular? Not sure what causes it, we both run Rekluses and just figured that was what was breaking ours, the heat that it can cause slipping in tight stuff I mean.
