I am looking to see what other mfg shocks may be compatible with the 400EX. I know I have read with some putting the KFX shocks on, the 450R shocks. What length shocks have you been able to fit onto the 400 stock A Arms? I am looking at a Cam Am shock that is 18.5" long.

I have the same Can Am quad but don't want to disassemble the quads in the cold garage to see if it will fit on my Honda.

18.5" shock is too long. I think stock is 16.5"

KFX will fit, but you need to cut the shock housing/eye area down quite a bit.

I went with 450R shocks, direct fit.

I put KFX fronts on mine and couldn't be happier. They aren't as stiff as the 450r shocks. And I wouldn't call the 450r shocks a direct fit, you still need to grind down either the bracket on the frame or some of the eye. YFZ450 and LTZ400 fronts will also work. I'd say the YFZs are the best ones, comparable to the KFXs but require a lot less fabrication to get them on.

i kno the 450r shocks dont require much but what do you have to do to the yfz shocks
