guidance please

Well I like to buy cheap bikes and have them fixed for cheap and sell for profit (normal american). I found an 02 400ex that was supposedly(sp?) rebuilt by honda shop not too long ago, and then got hot and the piston scarred the cylinder. I have a good stock cylinder and stock piston to put in it. the bike is bored now. What all would I need?

Well do you want to put it back to stock or do you want to put a big bore back in it.

To go back to stock it depends on the bore. I believe a 440 actually takes some material out of the jug. Requiring a new jug to go back to stock.

If its a smaller over bore You may just be able to put a stock sleeve back in it.


Either way you need to know how much its bored over..

he said it was lightly bored. Im also gettign a spare motor, but he sold the piston and stuff out of it. But my buddy has a stock piston and cylinder for $75 to put in it..
