What size are the carburetor bowl screws on a the 400ex?

I can't find the answer to this anywhere! I've gotta get back into my carburetor and i don't know what size screws i need to get from the hardware store, my brass ones are shot.

they look to be 4x14 A 2A I dont really know what the A 2A is but the 4 size and 14 the length fine thread should be right. you can get some in metric allen key head sets if you go to ace or something like that. then you can have 6 sides to bite even though those can strip easy too. you might be able to get them in a hardened carbon steel or something i dont know really about that. steve

the pitch is not 14. 14 indicates the lengnth of the bolt.

DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT SIZE THESE ARE?

i'm trying to replace them and i don't know what size to get, it looks like i'm gonna have to just take the screws in there and get the bolts. i was hoping to have the bolts on hand while doing the task.

take one with you and tell them to match it. the 4 mm by 14mm length, get a different one. I know they make different ones. if anything they can get a thread guage and check it and tell you exactly what it is. the infomation above is right from the schematic for the part. this is a pretty common bolt for places to have, they are used on weed wackers and a ton of carbs. steve

i would have figured but the true value here doesn't have any allen heads with 14 legnth oh, well i'll see what i can do.

a 10 long would probably work also. steve
