So i finally got my adaptor on today, now i just have to finish up the plugging the plunger off and i should be good to go. I broke the choke by accident so hopefully it will start fine over the winter. I currently went with a 160 dj since it has the dj needle in it i guess. it had a dj in it when i got it. the needle is in the stock position, that may take some work to move, along with i believe 3 turns out on the fuel air screw. i guess i will see what happens. to add to the install on the adaptor, i ground off the ridges on the outside ring, and heated up the adaptor on the stove for a few minutes then dropped it on. after i got it centered i cooled it down with a wet papertowel and boom we are good to go. Hopefully the new float bowl will get it to quit leaking and i should be set for the rest of the install tomorrow or even later tonight.

Hey Steve looking good over there. Your build is close to mine; let me know what jetting you end up with.

I got it all on and running! started right up and ran great for just taking up the road quietly. I cant wait to warm it up tomorrow. I will def take a pic of the plug after the initial ride after getting warm. I think it will be really close to being spot on already. steve

i put one on my 07 and the choke rubbed a whole in my line to the petcock, so i cut the choke down . it still functions tho. i wish someone would make a way to run a cable to the bars for the choke. oh i i found out if you pump it twice then start it it work fine with out choking it. i also made a air box cover kinda like the ehs on but i put underarmor over it . lets it breath more but yet water and debris proof

Mine did the same thing Steve, Started right up. Mine has the 188 main jet but I don’t know what the pilot is. I can only assume that it has the HRC kit in it because that’s what that kit comes with.
I think the pilot is the same but I could be wrong. Mine has a very slight stutter if I stab the throttle from idle, but other then that it runs great. And the stutter goes away after it gets hot.
Good luck, I think you’ll like it.

Mine is a bit lean right now but i think i will just leave it for now. I think it will be just about perfect in the summer. i may just take the extra lid i have and drill a few holes in it to richen it up for the cold right now. otherwise it looks good. I will take a pic of the plug when i go outside next. I had to come in and change clothes since i hit a patch of slush on the lake and got soaked covering the ehs lid lol. steve

Im curious steve if you drill holes in your air box lid wouldnt that give you more air leaning you out further?

I already have my lid off so it would be richening it up if i only put a couple holes in it. i may just take my cap out of the hole for the snorkel and put my lid back on. I know that the carb lets a ton of air through the box now. i cant imagine when i get it running good how it will be. I hope i can tell a good difference in performance. i will get my plug to take a pic next time i am out in the garage. steve

heres my plug from the initial test of riding around the house. this was a new plug and in about 10 minutes of riding. it is a bit lean in that pic. today i took my spare lid i had and drilled 12 1/2 holes in it down the middle and on each side about an inch apart from front to back to help offset the lean condition, it ran good again today after that and i will check the plug that is in tomorrow. my tool canister is froze shut from hitting the slush yesterday and rinsing it off. so i cant get the tools out of it. lol. steve
