surprisingly, were in the 4-8'' winter watch catagorey. Usually by now most of Pa is a complete white out. Usually I'm all about tons of snow, but my ranger will probably be half torn apart for winter and I hate running my new truck in the snow.

Ahh, those were the days... We can't do that around here anymore but when I was in high school my buddy and I would always cruise around. Make sure the gas tanks are filled! We made that mistake once lol...

It looks like we will be getting quite a bit though... definitely enough for you to go for a ride :D

I've got a question for all you guys that grew up living in places that get huge snowfalls each year,...

I grew up in Southern California, so the closest thing I've ever seen to huge snowfall is when the icemaker on the fridge door gets stuck, and icecubes bounce all over the kitchen floor.

Anyway I always thought it would be cool to live where there was so much snow that you could use something like a log splitter with a big box mounted on it, and a flat plunger on the ram.
Then after pressing out block after block of ice, use them to build a big fortress, or giant igloo, or whatever.

just wondering if any of you ever did anything like that ???

Wait, wtf?!!?!? I'm in central Jersey and we got a tiny dusting... No actual snow. Is there more coming? From what I've been reading it seems like all areas that were in the line of fire are already being hit. We got a tiny amount that stopped at about 9am and that's it.

Not a fun evening haha

I think we will end up with around 22 inches or so. I went hunting and there were places over my waist.....made for a hard walk to the stand. Could have killed a Doe but it would have been a TON of work getting to her and getting her out in the snow.

Then the battery cable broke on my tractor.....then a front tire came off the rim.....so after an hour working in the blowing snow I was finally able to dig the drive way out.

After tomorrow this crap can go away quickly:D

For the last 3 days it's been getting downright CHILLY !
Heck, yesterday and today it only got up to 75 degrees ! and it's supposed to drop to 47 tonight ! Can you belive that ?!?!?!

Then, by the end of the week,... the highs will only be in the mid to upper 60's !!!
at THIS rate,..I'm probably going to have to stop wearing my shorts sometime before Febuary !

and I may even have to put my flip-flops in the closet and start wearing Socks and Shoes !!!
DANG IT !!! If it gets any worse around here,... I'll have to break out a couple of long sleeve t-shirts too !!!

God-Forbid, if I have to actually find my one flannel shirt too.
I'm not sure I can take much more of this !!!

gotta go now,....
need to reset the thermostat to around 78 or so.
don't what to catch a chill ya know....

btw- here's the weather forecast for the next 10 days around here...

It makes me laugh at the people who think 24" of snow is an emergency! hahaha.

Where I'm at now, I dont get an awful lot, but I do travel to tug hill region a lot. Their first snowstorm brought over 3' of snow this year. Only a couple years ago watertown area had snow nearing the tops of telephone poles. My uncle had to snowblow for nearly 18 hours non stop to stay on top of it. He'd finish the front of the house and the back part of the driveway would be buried again. It was intense. They had snowdrifts over 20' tall. A town plow truck was buried trying to break through one.:macho
