ok. i hope you guys dont start to hate me but i tried to search this simple question and i cant find to much on it do to the fact that the search engine will not look for the word ''oil'' when i type in oil filter. it tells me "The search term you specified (oil) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer. "

i just picked up AMSoil SAE 10W-40 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil (MCF) and it is wet clutch approved. and i would like to use a good oil filter.

thanks guys for bearing with me and helping a newbie out

If you type oil in the search it is to short you have to add * to it and it will work.It will look like this *oil* filter. As far as filters go I either use Hondas or Fram. The part number for the Fram is CH6015 and you can get those at an auto parts store or Wall mart.

yea 2 quarts is what it takes. I put one quart in the tank, cycle the engine over with the starter a little bit, then put about 3/4's of the 2nd quart. then start it up and let it idle for a minute or two, then put the rest of the oil in.

My manual for my 06 says to put 1.8qt. What happens if you overfill it?

2 quarts will work for you, dont worry about the 1.8. i believe that is without a filter. it is 2.1 with isnt. nothing will happen if you have too much in there since it only pumps so much thru at a time, the res tank just has more in it. steve

I don't know if K&N does, but the fram filters come with a new o ring for the filter cover.

Wix 24944 fits, comes with the 'O' rings and is a good filter.

Also available under the NAPA Gold filter line as 4944.

IMO the Wix looks identical to the Honda Filter. I been using Wix 24938 in my Rincon for years. The price is usually less than $8.
