well judging by how dirty your quad is i dont think your gonna like it that much because most of that mud is gonna be on your face lol someone told me to try this i think it was stunting andy, take your front plastics off and go for a ride if you dont get annoyed or soaked then cut em itll look sick but i have a feeling youll be covered and not too happy at the end of your ride :ermm:

well i cut mine for race and honestly yes there are times when the track sucks and u get muddy but in my opinion the last thing on my mind when racing was getting muddy. if u race i would recommend cutting ur plastics. it helps you see where your tires are going better and just a better view of the ground in front of u.

good air filter, jet the carb, tires. tires are a big part of racing mx! uh lets see suspension is really the most important but on a budget i would say the 400 swap if u could fit it in your budget. and get a full pipe if you dont have one already. air flow fuel flow and exhaust well let u run good. and a mild port job helps.

i got a great intake, im running 20 razr cross in the front and 18 kenda klaw mxrs in the back, my carb is leaking gas out of the overflow line which i heard i need a new one, i also heard the bottem 400ex aarms wouldnt work and you had to get teh 250R lower arms

400 Arms will work. 400 And 250r front ends are pretty identical. Sounds like your set on tires. I use itp mxr6s same size you run. I would def look into repairing or finding a new carb. Could even step up to a 400 carb.

yea i was thinking about going to the 400ex carb but people kept tellin me it wouldnt be any difference and it would just be a waste of money

think bout that. its a bigger carb with bigger jets. bigger equals more fuel. common sense on that one.

question about that iv heard of the 400ex carb switch and it sounds like a good idea but what do you have to do to the carb/jets to make it work? do you have to rejet it or does a stock 400ex carb run perfect on a stock 300ex engine?

well until u got a bigger head pipe it wont run 100% correct. more fuel means more exhaust. i would leave it stock jetting and then prob drop it down as needed.

"i got a great intake,":huh

The 400 carb fits right on, you may have a little trouble at first, but just apply a little force and it should slip right in;) I would start off with the stock jets like he siad and go from there. I dropped down one jet size from stock. I have a full super trap exhaust.

If i had a 400ex carb then would i need a 400 or 300ex jet kit?
and are 400ex FCR carbs good?
thanks

400jets. stock 400 carb will work fine with stock jets. u wont need to adjust the jets any bigger till you get a bigger pipe and cam and port work.

i have all that done to my motor but do the stock 400ex carbs add a good horse power gain. and do they usually act right and adjust good to the 300.
thanks
