Does anyone know Casey Watson, from East Peoria Illinois?
His ebay name is cwat2832

On Aug 30th I sold him a MINT Lonestar T Pin frontend on ebay. It was a blue frontend with chrome uppers and the newer LSR t pin spindles. Some of you guys may have been watching it on ebay. The auction was very specific and detailed as to which chassis it came off of, measurements, etc. and it had several detailed pics. Anyway, this Watson guy buys the frontend with "buy it now", pays with paypal, and I shipped it to him. A week or so after he recieves it he sends me an email saying- "it doesn't fit. shocks don't fit right". That's it. I asked for details and never got any. I didn't hear any more about it, so I assumed he'd figured it out. Then, a full TWO MONTHS later, I get a message from paypal saying he had filed a chargeback with his credit card company. After several weeks of being reviewed, his card company refunds his money, which now makes paypal deduct the money from my account to cover it. I fought it out with paypal, but they are no help since the actual credit card company did the chargeback and took the money from paypal. Nice to know you're protected when you use paypal. So now this scumbag has my frontend and my money. I have sent him several emails asking him to return my frontend, but he will not respond. I told him I will even pay shipping! My attorney sent him a certified letter today, but who knows. I have his address, and if I have to ride to Illinois from Florida to get what's mine, it won't be pretty. All I want is my parts back. I am an honest seller, and do what I say. It irks me that people do ***** like this!
Does anyone know this scumbag?
Also, if anyone sees, or has seen this frontend pop up for sale, please let me know.

I PM'd you his address. He either needs to return my frontend or the $540.00 that he got refunded. That was for the frontend + shipping. Personally I would rather have the frontend. I will even pay to ship it back. Just tell the dude to do the right thing.

People suck on ebay. I was just reading a magazine about ebay and how to work it and they mentioned in the front that ebay was founded on people doing the right thing and being honest and fair.

They have since taken that out of their motto and replaced it with protection policies.

They are one of the top businesses in the world, doing more than 30 billion in sales and considering they profit on all aspects including paypal equaling nearly 15% fees on all transactions I think they need to step up.

Their system is VERY flawed and people who have no conscience take advantage of it.

I have had luck on several occasions by calling the local police department in the other person's location. On all occasions all it took was a police officer to go knocking on their door - which (surprisingly all did) and things got resolved. It may take a couple times as some officers/phone clerks will tell you that you have to file in your local area, but I always tell them that does no good since they cannot investigate.

JUST an FYI - dealing on ebay is a gamble. You have to be willing to take that gamble and lose or don't play. Odds are you will win more than you lose, but you will lose because 100% of people are not honest. I personally have lost $2000 on ebay, but out of probably $40000 it's a small percentage.

Thanks Seth. If you find it, don't ship it to me via FedEx! LOL If you do, use bigger ip ties! LMAO

Yeah, ebay is a joke. The rules and changes are just crazy. Sellers can't leave bad feedback anymore. Only buyers. WTF? It's crazy. But, what are you gonna do? Not finding parts on ebay is like saying you're not going to Wal Mart. You just can't do it.

One thing I did with paypal is link the account to a smaller savings account. Paypal is a private company. they are NOT a bank. They are not insured like a bank, and are not regulated like a bank. They can access your money for any private reason (conceivably), and hold your funds for the same.

I pay my bills, but if you read around about paypal, you may start to sense that you shouldn't trust them with access to your primary money account. I don't even use them for business anymore. It's actually cheaper these days to take credit cards if you shop around. screw paypal. Here's an addy to some stuff about compalints too in case you're curious paypalsucks.com

I agree. I have a seperate account just for paypal. I keep very little money in there for that very reason. Paypal has WAY too many "liberties" with peoples accounts.

I was scammed a similar way earlier this year from a guy in Miami for $400. I don't accept credit cards anymore because of it. The purchaser has way too many rights in my opinion. On the flip side when I received the wrong part from an e-bay seller last month, they didn't want to pay for return shipping or refund the money. Then he claimed he never received the parts back. Luckily e-bay provided a return shipping label and charged him back for his mistake.

As a buyer I got my money back plus return shipping. As a seller I got nothing. The credit card companies follow the customer is always right for refunding money.

Buyers get ripped off too. I get burned from the 30 days rule. Stuff I buy ends up being worse than described ("new" 12 dvd set that was completely scratched). Then they sent me a replacement scratched worse than the original. Ebay says work with the seller, but their stall tactics worked and they got past 30 days. After that you are ****ed.

Or another dvd set that said nothing about it being a illegal chinese import (seller got removed).

Or back in the day I got something after 6 weeks, they sent a email after the first week saying it had been shipped. When it finally arrived I gave them negative feedback, and they gave me negative. How could I get negative, I payed within 2 minutes of pushing buy-it-now. Talk about retaliatory (sp?).

I've ordered several things from Hong Kong that never arrived. Seller said they shipped the original and a replacement. Not sure if I believe them or not.

If you get ripped off for $50 and you may have just lost years of savings. At least Walmart give you product for the money you pay.

As soon as the money is put into my Paypal account from a sale, I remove it so Paypal can't do a shady refund scam like they did to you. Getting burned by a shady buyer is B.S. Anything I can do to futher protect myself I take anvantage of. Good luck with this jerk.

no. once it's in your bank account they can't just go in there and take what they want. i've filed a couple claims with paypal against people and it's the same story, there's no money in their paypal account so they can't do anything for you.

on bigger purchases i pay using my CC through paypal, cause paypal won't back you like your CC company. and i transfer money out of paypal to my checking account as soon as it gets there.

Socialistic, anti-capitalistic changes in view is what I think the growing problem is. People are less expected to take responsibility for themselves. If you're actually trying to make a living for yourself, many may view you as greedy and treated with suspicion. Good thing the government will make everyone else pay our bills. I think I'm going to quit working - just no need! haha.

I think you're setting yourself up for failure. I've had to file a claim and if I remember right, they explained that the refund was going to depend on funds in the backing account. that's how I remember it anyway.

The tips I've read online say the same - keep the backing account empty. Paypal can and will take money from it just like they do for normal transactions. That's how I understand it anyway. And man, don't ever give them your social security number. They could probably put a claim against your credit report if you have.

Having said all that, if you owe someone money, don't be a douchebag. Pay your bills.

If there is no money in your Paypal account, there are no funds for them to take. They do not have authorization to take funds from your credit card.

Update- I sent this guy a certified letter in mid December as a last attempt at being nice, and telling him to just return my stuff or pay me what he owes me. I recieved the letter back today because Mr Casey Watson refuses to pick up or even accept the letter. What a man... Anyway, I'm done being nice. If anyone knows this scumbag, tell him I WILL be getting my stuff back or my money.

yeah f ebay. i bid .99 on some mint stock lower a arms for a 87 R and won them plus 20 for shipping. i won them for $20.99 total. i contact him about the lower arms a week later and he tells me that his shop was broken into and the lower arms were stolen.

keep in mind that i sent him 20.99 for the lower arms. he refunds my money. the kicker is that he refunds 20 dollars. which minus the paypal fee i get back $19.12. no big deal right? lost money buying something i don't have. just plain f'd up. $1.87 short.

the whole time i was bidding on the matching uppers and he never contacted me. now i won the uppers for 20.99 plus 20 for shipping. conatcted him that i don't want them. once again someone just stole the lower arms??????????

was it so hard to put a reserve or minimum bid?

shop was broken into but they didn't take the aftermarket pipe?????

its called small claims court, go to his door (have someone film you doing this) record the response you get from this moron and simply either bring it up in court or with the police. you have plenty of information about this fellow. I guess I have been lucky with ebay and paypal.

This Casey Watson fellow is some kind of scumbag. I had someone go by there and he either wasn't home or wouldn't answer the door. He also won't accept the certified letters we've sent. Freakin COWARD!!! I guess he thinks I am just going to go away. When he sees the big red F250 pull up to his his house he'd better meet me at the door with my frontend or my money. To me, there's nothing worse than a liar or a thief.
