I'm going to run 18'’ tires on the back of my lt250r.
Thinking of running a 36 sprocket on back and a 14 or 15 in front.

My Motor; Bored, Ported, Reeds and FMF Pipe

Is anyone running 18’s? And what is your gearing?

Thanks For Your Help

unless your building a torquey *** motor 14/36 is going to be way too high geared. try about 13/38 39 or 12/36. stock rear is 42 and going down to 36 is like adding two teeth in the front sprocket

You think that will be a good set-up for the 18" tires

After reading the 14-44 tooth post, I wanna make sure you guys understand how that works. In short, bigger in front or smaller in rear takes away from low end power, adds to top end. You need more HP to do this. On the flip side, smaller in front or larger in rear changes gear ratio to add to low end, but takes away top end speed. As "headache" stated, try 13-39 with the work done on your LT. I had cylinder work done by LRD and their pipe. I run 13-39 and am happy with it. Stock sprockets are 12-42. You don't want to get smaller in the front, so usually a combo of change up in the front or down in the rear is needed. Increasing both will cancel out. And of course tire changes gearing, as you see. Smaller rear tires equal more low end, less top speed.

I switch between 18's and then 20's for trail riding. Still has decent enough low end with 20's I don't bother switching sprockets. 13-39 def works good with 18 rears though.
