You should really keep a closer eye on that, you could do it yourself much cheaper. Make sure to top off your blinker fluid as well.

nice, agreed with the fluids. always make sure you are topped off and keep an eye on that rubber band it can get wore out and will produce less power when you least expect it. steve

you gonna be adding those cross-drilled brake lines? Blue powerband and piston return spring?? also.

Try a ball bearing next time instead of a needle bearing. It will create a torpedo effect in the exhaust making it sound like a Kenworth with a 500 Cummins and straight pipes.

eh, stay away from the blue powerband....I heard that they loose their power when they start getting stretched out.
Pink power bands are the only ones that I will run.

That looks like it could be a pinion bearing, but im still trying to work out how it would come through the housing intact and destroy a muffler...:ermm:

I heard you can only install them with a left handed screw driver too.

honda400ex2003
12-16-2009, 06:22 PM
that is the only way you can do it it wont work with a right handed one. you cant get the right angle to get it in properly. steve

hahaha, when I did electrical work and got new helpers, I had them asking everybody for a pipe or wire stretcher. Sometimes I would tell them what color it had to be, also. A good one carpenters use is a stud bender or threaded rod bender.

You should have used a left handed what-cha-ma-call it with a right handed doom-a-hickey, but of curse it won’t work without a magnetic thing-a-ma-jig.

If you have the money you could put a Kanuter valve on it.

if you would keep those bearings greased that wouldn't happen all you have to do is pack the end of your exhaust full of grease and this would never happen!

Well it's clearly obvious that someone improperly installed a Standard bearing, in your Metric muffler !
Not to mention,... that it is installed UPSIDE-DOWN TOO !!!

It happens all the time, and the Liberal Media just refuses to report it.
It's probably some sort of Canadian Conspiracy, with ties to Kim Jong, and the entire Klingon Banking institutions !

Our Inter-Galactic Taxes should not be used to fund this type of mindless lack of quality, or carelessness.

and although I cant be 100% sure, due to the angle the pic is taken at,...
It looks to me like that is not even a US Forestry Approved, spark arresting bearing !!!

I say we should all stand up and UNITE !
We can't just stand by quietly and let these kind of irresponsible actions continue !

in my machining class, we always trick the freshman, the other day we had a boy get a board stretcher(tranny jack) from the auto shop, then had him go in our tool room to get the twist handle(tap handle) to stretch the stretcher, then had him go to carprentry and get a left handed screwdriver to put it together, and a right handed file to make it fit well. he had been carrying all the around the school, after he found out that it was fake we even told him to fill up the water fountain because it was out of water. he was pouring 5 gallon buckets of water in the fountain, and we kept telling him to put more in becaust the flow wasnt strong enough. he wont listen to anything we say now.

atvnut22 In the 70's I was a mech in a Mech Inf Company. I was working on the Co's M151 jeep changing out u joints. The CO new driver was helping me. I got the first of 6 drive shafts out and said Oh SH*T the drive shaft had collapsed in and I need the drive shaft stretcher tool from the tool room. 2hrs later I get a call from the Division HQ motor pool Sargent good one due not due it again. He went from our tool room to A Company, then C Then Bn then Bn CSC then Bde, and finally Div HQ MP tool room. When he got back he told me a mech in Div HQ MP had broken it.

it also makes it worse since there are words used in the wrong way such as due instead of do not do it again. makes it that much harder lol. steve

Make sure to check your wobble shaft before you put those bearing back in, the slightest bend in it will cause them to go out in 10-15 hours max! Honest man!

you need a glass hammer to instal those muffler bearing. you need to get the triple grease rate bearing with the extra needle pinion in too. it will keep your muffler running sweet and hopefully you wont blow another one out!

We used to tell the boot camps to go ask the chief for a "prick E-7 that works". Chief didn't like that too much.
