I might be getting a snowblower next week, i am getting it for free but, and with free there is always a but. lol. it runs fine until it starts to blow snow, then it dies. i dont really know much about it, i think it is a john deere 8hp walk behind. it starts and runs fine though. does anyone know anything about snowblowers and what could be wrong with this one? thanks Steve

There might be a problem with the differential for the auger if it dies when engauged. If it runs before put in "drive" or "throw" there is a problem outside of the motor . If it dies while at idle its probably a carb issue. I got a free 27" path two stage with a 8hp and the rod punched through the block. I bought a new 12hp that bolted right up for $360 shipped brand new with electric start. The things a tractor. I cant get it to bog down. It will trow anything I steer it into.
