i just bought a curtis sparks fcr carb for my z. what intake boot works best cause the carb hits the head stay.the stock boot from the motor to carb seems to short.any help would be great.

having delt with this same problem my best saluation was to go to a NAPA store and get what they call gas neck filler hose,
you dont need very much of it ,really, just enough to clear the head stay.
you could maybe place a ring inside the hose to get better air flow but thats up to you.


or replace the head stay.

i used the stock one for now,but then again im only using a bored 37mm fcr from a 250f.Hey i had it laying around:) it still runs better than the stocker plus its got the ap.Im on the lookout for a 450 41mm fcr after the holidays.

hmmm ,what can the 37mm be bored to ? if it can be bored bigger i know some one that can do it. $125.

i didnt measure it but theres a lot of meat in there.I took some material off but theres still lots left.i imagine it could go to a 39mm no problem with lots left

i would speculate you'd have more money into buying a new carb that having the one you have now bored.
