I've got an Onan Marquis 6500 LP generator on my trailer and was wondering how much fuel it should be using. It has a 40lb tank and seems to me that it will run about 20 hrs. Seems kinda high to me. Anybody else got one?

That seems pretty high to me also.... and sounds like it would get expensive pretty quick. I was think it should last you atleast 2 days ... but i guess it all depends on how much you're using it at full tilt.

it should be 1.2 gal/hour at full load

If propane is 4.2 lb per gallon, I can only run 7.93 hr on 40 lb at that rate. Right? Some thing can't be right with that.

what are you guys paying for your propane? i fill a lot of tanks all day and we charge $2.95/gallon and $12.99 for a 20lb. i'm not sure what we pay for it though.

just curious cause it has really shot around up here lately...

Ours runs between 9.99 and 12.99 for a 20lb tank ... depends on the price of propane that week I guess.
